Baby blessing

We had a very fun weekend with lots of family.  It started Sunday when we blessed Prince L at church. We decided to be a little untraditional and bought him an outfit he could wear more than just the one day. It took forever to find this though. They just don't sell suits for infants!
Once we got hoome from church we changed into just a onesie, and then got to spend some time with King Dad's brother Uncle T and his wife Aunt R, plus their 4 kids.  We don't get to see them very often, so it was  a fun treat for us.

The 4 youngest grandkids (at least at this gathering). When Princess R saw kids lining up on the floor she had to join in, lol. It was so cute.

I love this one! It looks like Prince L is ready to eat Princess R's arm off.  I can just see the fun times together in their future.

FHE on temples

Last week for FHE we drove up to the Brigham City Temple. We walked around the tabernacle across the street since the temple is still under construction, but it was nice to sit in the shadow of such a magnificent building.

The value of Hard Work

So Princess V has had a hard time lately with eating the food I make, and just making large fits and tantrums over it. So one night King Dad told her she could either eat and have a popsicle, or not eat and do hard work. Well after one of the biggest tantrums and horrendous screaming I have ever heard in my life, she ended up doing some hard work with Dad.

I really feel like she learned a lesson out there.  For the most part she seemed to enjoy the work, and we only heard the occasional "I'm tired" and "I can't" from her. Eventually she took a potty break, and when I went to check on her, she asked if she could please eat her dinner.
SUCCESS!
I of course let her eat more of her dinner, which we had left sitting on the table. It was hot outside, she expended a lot of energy working, and she was aware that her body needed the fuel.  She only took a few bites, and then she was back out finishing the work with King Dad.
Since this little experiment I haven't had near the same amount of tantrums over food. I push her less to eat, and she eats more willingly.

Of course while she was hard at work, her sisters were right next to her having fun
And Prince L just hung out with us

With how well this consequence cworked out, I think it's one we'll be using more frequently

Sunny Weather

I love that the sun has come out. I hate that the allergies have as well. Normally I do ok, but yesterday the cotton was flying (literally it looked like a snowstorm made from cotton yesterday!).  I took the kids outside despite my inability to breathe, smell or hear anything. They really enjoyed the dose of Vitamin D too.

Gardening

I decided to do a little gardening unit with Princess C. We started it a couple weeks ago, and just finished up today. Yes, I'm a big slacker lately, but we're getting back in to the swing of things around here.
We started out at Lowes to pick some vegetables to plant. I let the Princesses pick, so we came home with watermelon, carrots, and corn seeds.  Turns out we couldn't plant them right away, not the right time of year, so we bought an indoor starter kit too.  We decided to start with the watermelon.

Planting the seeds

Princess R had to get in on the dirt action as well

Then we waited. And waited, and waited some more. Finally we had sprouts and got to plant them, and water them outside!

Hopefully we can see some results this year. We also got the carrots planted yesterday.

Dinosaur Boy

A couple weeks ago I participated in the biggest blog party of all time, hopping around blogs, getting to know some new bloggers. It was a lot of fun.  The best part though, was the giveaways. Lots and lots of giveaways!!  And I won something from Musings of a Palouse Mom.  She was giving away a hat of the winners choice from My Sweet Potato 3.  She has so many cute hats!!  I ended up letting King Dad choose.
What do you think?

Liebster Award

Rebekah Grace: Practically  Perfect Princess has awarded 3 Princess and a Prince Academy for the Liebster Award.
Thanks so much ladies!!  My practically (in training) Princesses truly appreciate it. I know I haven't been around here much lately, but I'm working on fixing that. We've got to get into a new kind of schedule with Prince L in the mix now.

Ok so what is the Liebster Award? It is given by bloggers to bloggers. It's awarded to blogs with 200 or less followers to help gain exposure to them.

Thank you so much Rebekah Grace: Practically Perfect Princess! I have sure enjoyed following all the Princesses in your Princess Palooza!

So here's the rules to the Liebster Award

2. You must link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.

So here are the bloggers I would like to present with this award.  Check them out. Send them some love.

~ Baca Ohana - Anytime I need a good laugh I head over to her blog. She writed about her family, but has some of the most humorous posts I've read in blog land. Plus she's got some adorable kids to boot!

~ Blaze-in On - She writes about her son and life on a wannabe farm. She inspires me to one day try things like raising chickens...one day....

~ Queen of the Snot Princesses - I came across her blog a long time ago, and loved the name. She's got some adorable girls!

~ Simple Living with Diane Balch - She and I host a Foodie Friday each week (on my other blog..). She has lots of wisdom when it comes to getting back to the basics!

~ Tiny Mitten Secrets - I just recently found this blog, and love it. She thinks parents can still be awesome, after kids. We don't have to become boring!  I love it!

So there you have it! 5 blogs I think deserve some loving!
