Church

We had a pretty good day at church today.  During the sacrament Princess V told me about Jesus.  Here is what she told me -

Jesus loves me.  I love Him.  He died for us.  He got nails in Him.  They put a sign up.  There were mean people.  He lived again.  He's alive.  He loves me.

I was so impressed with her.  I could tell she really listens to her lessons.

Princess C had a bit more of a rough day.  I guess a bunch of the kids got on a table in nursery.  The leaders got them down, but Chloe got back up.  She lost her footing and fell, possibly hitting a chair on the way down.  She wouldn't calm down so they took her Daddy.  She seemed to be doing pretty fine, at home.  But a little after dinner, she started almost just whimpering about her nose, and asking for kisses.  I was feeding Princess R, so I had Daddy take a look.  Her nose was now bruised and starting to swell.  Poor girl.  I am really thankful we have a PA in the family.  Mark called his brother, who told us things to look for if there was a concussion, and assured us she would be fine.  I hope we don't take too much advantage of his knowledge, but it really is nice to have him.  Thanks Uncle T. for allowing us to call with our concerns and questions.

Princess V and C are now hanging out with a blanket and pillows watching a little cartoon before bed.

Princess R

For your viewing pleasure I present Princess R

Family Fun Saturday

We had such a fun day today.  The girls woke up happy and Princess V, Princess C and I all cuddled on the couch under a blanket this morning watching some cartoons.  After awhile we got daddy up and really started our day.  We heard about a farmers market in Syracuse, so we wanted to check it out, and the park next to it.  The market was itty bitty, but the Princess' and Daddy had fun at the playground.

After the park, we drove around looking at some homes, and then did some grocery shopping.  The Princess' were really good and had lots of fun picking out different treats.  We came home put a pizza in the oven and put the groceries away.  Then we watched Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue while having a picnic on the floor.  Then we let Daddy take a nap, and we played with the dolls in the dollhouse.
I had a General Relief Society broadcast to go to tonight, so I took Princess R to that, and left Daddy and Princess V and C to have their own fun.  From what I understand they had a little tea party where they politely asked for a drink, and held their pinkies out.  What an awesome Daddy they have.

Exercise

Fridays are going to be our new exercise day.  We met some moms with kids, and decided to go walking with them every friday at the Jensen Nature Park in Syracuse.  It was a bit early for the kids this morning (9am), but we made it through.

Look at that face!  What a funny girl!  She slept in my arms the last half of the walk.  And Princess C and V traded off sitting in her carseat in the stroller.  When we got done with the walk, we stopped at the pond and fed the ducks the bread we brought.  Princess V was very astute when the group of white ducks entered the area the rest of the ducks we were feeding were at.  She ran to me and pointed "Mom, White ducks!"

Faces

Yesterday Princess V and R took a nap at the same time.  It was really nice to have some one on one time with Princess C.  I decided to try and do a mini lesson with her. We pulled the chalkboard down, and I gave her the eraser.  We started by drawing a circle on the board.  This was going to be our face.  I then asked Princess C where things went "Where's your eyes, where do they go on this circle?"  She had a lot of fun creating the face.  After making our face I tried pushing it into our senses, and talking about seeing, hearing, smelling and tasting.  Princess C at this point tuned out and became a dog.  So we drew a dog's food bowl and water bowl for her to eat out of.  Lots of fun!

Princess V is 4

I can't believe it!  She's 4 years old!  The time has flown by and she's no longer my baby.  Princess V was born 4 years ago on September 22, 2006 at 12:43pm.  She was 7lbs 8oz and 20inches long.  4 years later and she is 31.5lbs and 3ft 2inches.
We were at Nana and Opah's last night taking care of Grandma, so I let Princess V sleep in this morning (ok I let her every day).  When she woke up Princess C and I sang Happy Birthday to her.  We had Marshmallow Mateys and a fruit smoothie for breakfast.  We followed breakfast up with some coloring of Tinkerbell (she got a BIG book of her from Nana and Opah), and watching some cartoons.  We left a little after lunch to come home.  First we had to stop at the store to get the cake stuff.  Since it was Princess V's birthday I let them ride in one of the car carts.  They loved it.  When we went to leave the store though there was a huge rainstorm that had moved in.  The water droplets were enormous.  I was going to wait it out, but a nice employee came over with an umbrella and ran out with us.  Princess V and C just giggled the whole time.  They thought it was so fun. Of course they were covered in the cart so they would.
When we got home, the Princess' played and watched some more cartoons while I cleaned the kitchen and made the cake.  Then Daddy got home, and it was birthday time!  We opened presents first.  Princess C kept thinking they were for her, so that was a little difficult.  She got the new Tinkerbell movie - Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue, and a book light. She was so excited for them.

We quickly ate dinner, then Daddy took Princess V and C to the mall, as that was one thing Princess V really wanted to do today.  They came home pretty happy, so I guess they must have had fun.  Last for the night we blew out candles, cut the cake, and watched her new movie.  They are now winding down for bed with a little Sprout.

Princess C

Princess C doesn't seem to get as much attention as the other 2 on here.  So todays post is all about her.  She has really grown and it seems like it was overnight.  She is talking in full sentences and really seems to understand  a lot of everything.  Where did my toddler go?  I really don't consider her a toddler anymore with how much she has grown.  We have been working on potty training.  So far she'll tell us while she's going that she needs to go potty, but we haven't made it on the potty yet.  But she is aware of it, and communicates that, so we're on the right track.
Last week while Princess V was in dance we went to a Nature Park that a friend told us about. There was a cool water fall surrounded by rocks that Princess C just loved.  After hanging out by the waterfall we took a walk across the park to the little stream and lake to watch the ducks.  Princess C and R had lots of fun and did not want to leave.  Princess C climbed on one of the rocks and looked up and said "I'm the little Mermaid!"  Oh I couldn't resist a picture!
Princess C is also my new workout partner.  Every morning there is a workout show on BYUTV, they've been doing a lot of yoga.  Princess V just watches, but Princess C has been getting up and stretching and posing with me.  I'll try and get a picture of her one of these days.

Princess R and food

WOW!  I cannot believe that we are already giving Princess R solids.  She is 4 months now, and has such amazing head strength we decided it was time to try the solids.  She doesn't really seem to know what to think yet, but slowly she's getting more used to them.  Here's some pictures from her very first feeding last Sunday.

Preschool and Dance

This week was a crazy one for Princess V.  She started preschool and dance!  Tuesday was her first day of Preschool.  We are at Nana and Opah's every tuesday, so we signed her up for the neighbors preschool there.  She was so excited to get to go, and didn't even complain when I told her she had to wear pants incase they ran around outside (and let me tell you, her wearing pants is a big deal!).  So we got all ready, took some pictures, and walked across the street.  It is so cute.  This lady has put up a wall in her garage and turned the back half of it into a little preschool.  2hours later and we went to pick her up.  She was kind of sad, because she didn't get to jump on the trampoline or get a sticker (no one else got a sticker either).  I think she just had a lot of fun and didn't want to come home.  She also got a cute jean bag with her name on it.
Today was her dance class.  She enjoyed it so much this summer, we signed her up again.  Sadly, we could not find her leotard anywhere this morning.  So after a mad search through every room, we gave in and had to buy a new one.  It was a mad rush to the store and then to the studio, where we still needed to buy some footless leotards (we found ones with feet are extremely slippery the hard way).  This new studio is absolutely amazing.  When we went to pick her up they were all dressed up with crowns and tutu's and feather wands.  She was all smiles, and was even happier when she got a sticker.  As we left she remembered to thank her teacher.

Animals

Friday I let the girls lead our lesson.  We decided to learn about some animals.  So we started by asking what their favorite animals were.  They both loved horses, then liked monkeys, cats, and elephants.  As we said each one we learned about it as well.  After we neighed like horses, we talked about what they eat.  I pulled out a can of oats, and let the girls "discover" it.  After playing with the oats, we made them into No Bake Cookies for us to eat.  Then we oohed and ahhed like monkeys.  I thought, hey lets learn about grooming a bit.  So I told the Princess' how monkey's help each other by picking the bugs out of each others hair.  We then related that to brushing our hair to keep it clean and neat, and proceeded to brush each others hair.   I thought while we are on the topic of grooming, let's get into crocodiles.  You know how crocodiles get their teeth cleaned by birds?  Yep, we pretended our toothbrushes were birds, and I had very willing children brushing their teeth!  Later in the day we sat around our chalkboard and listed the animals we talked about, and then listed animals that people keep for pets.  Overall, I think the Princess' loved this lesson.

Cousins

Yesterday we got to spend the day with Cousin K.  She is visiting utah with her mom right now, and we thought it would be a nice break for her mom, and a fun play day for the kids.  Wednesday night she slept over and then we played all day thursday.  The Princess' wanted a castle, so we hung blankets around the bottom bunk of the beds, and boy did they have fun in there!  We spent about an hour at the playground until I thought the girls faces were getting a little too pink.  So we went home and had popsicles.  After taking Cousin K back to her mom Princess V started crying a bit because she missed her "girl friend".  Ahhh, we wish they lived closer so we could play more often!

Princess V

We are so very excited for Princess V this year.  She is all signed up for dance and preschool.  Since we've been going to my parents 2 days a week, it has been hard to keep up with my daily teaching.  Nana found out her neighbor does preschool though, and was able to get Princess V in.  She will only go one day a week, but I think she'll love it.  It will be every Tuesday for 2hours!  She then has her dance class every thursday, where she will be learning tap and ballet, also starting next week.  My little girl is growing up!

Leaping Frogs

To continue with our frog theme, I created a little number game for the Princess'. They know their alphabet pretty well, but we haven't worked on numbers a whole lot.  So this is what we came up with.
The quarter was our "fly".  We took turns tossing the fly onto the number sheet.  Whatever number it landed on, we had to leap like frogs that many times.  I was really impressed with Princess V as she got most of the numbers right, with little help from me.  Princess C didn't care for the numbers on the sheet so much as she enjoyed leaping around like a frog while counting to 4 (or sometimes 5).
